Rods:

• A 7 or 8 wt rod will work well for 90% of what we do.

• You can go down to a 4 or 5 wt for bluegill back in the freshwater, though a heavier rod may be better since you never know what they might eat.

Lines, Leaders, Tippett:
Fluorocarbon bite tippets are recommended to keep from breaking off on the many sharp oyster beds in the area and also because you never know when a species with an abrasive mouth or sharp gill plates (tarpon or snook) might grab your fly.

• Floating lines to match your rod weight.

• 16 or 20# tippet for trout and redfish with a section of 30# fluorocarbon bite tippet.

• 16 or 20# tippet for snook with a 40# fluorocarbon bite tippet.

• For  Largemouth Bass I fish a floating line with 16 - 20# tippet with 30 - 40# bite tippet.

Flies for Redfish, Snook, Trout and Bass:
All flies should have weedguards.

• Poppers and gurglers - 1 to 1/0

• Borski’s Bonefish Slider - chartreuse or natural

• Rattle Mullet (redfish, trout, snook)

• EP style baitfish patterns

• Chartreuse Redfish Candy

Other Recommended Items:

• Polarized sunglasses (preferably copper or amber tinted)

• Hat with a wide brim

• Lightweight rain suit

• Warm jacket for early morning runs

• Sun block

• Food for lunch or a snack

• Water or soft drinks
